Indianapolis, in.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that the former two-time ABA Champion SETX  Mavericks have returned to the ABA after a two-year hiatus.  “We are very pleased and excited to have the Mavericks back,” stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. And their move from Texas to Shreveport/Bossier, a great market, is very exciting and will add much to our fast-growing Gulf Coast Division.”
The team is owned by Jerry Nelson, Jr, a Texas oil man and owner of the Frontier Rodeo Company based in Winnie, Texas. The Head Coach  is Steve Tucker, a long-time veteran coach in the ABA who has led great teams in Jacksonville, Dallas and the Mavericks to two ABA Championships.
