INDY NAPTOWN ALL STARS ADDED TO ABA EXPANSION TEAMS

Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that it has added the Indy Naptown All Stars to its growing list of expansion teams for the 2014 season.  “Indianapolis is the birthplace of the original ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman.  “Having a very good organization and team back here again is very important to the league, and I can think of no one better suited to lead the organization than my daughter, Susie Packard.  Susie has been handling ABA merchandising for many years and has been around the ABA all of her life. She knows what it takes to be successful on and off the court.”

Susie is an Indianapolis native with direct ties to the ABA.  As an accomplished business owner (she created and ran one of the largest 3rd party vending companies at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, The Brew Crew.  She is a graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis and also attended Cathedral High School.  Susie has “retired” the Brew Crew to concentrate on the Indy Naptown All Stars.  “Having grown up on and off the court, my eye for basketball and love of community was a natural draw for me when deciding to become a team owner in the ABA,” added Ms. Packard.  “Commitment to community has been and will always be in the forefront of my efforts to bring another professional sports organization to Indianapolis.”

Another co-owner of the team is Jerri Rines, also an Indianapolis native and the mother of three.  Jerri is a graduate of Perry Meridian High School and excelled in Theatrical and Speech Arts.   She has spent many years in the restaurant and bar industry and is a specialist in Media Arts, web design, social media and serves as coordinator for the ABA website. “We are very pleased to have Saysha and Cory Arnett as part of our ownership team,” commented Ms. Rines.  “Cory is a former NBA player and ABA player and coach; his main priority will be to make us very competitive on the court. With the talent available in Central Indiana, we have no doubt we will be.  And like myself, Saysha has a marketing/IT/social media background and will make a great impact on our overall marketing.  We are very excited to be part of the ABA.”
