ABA TO RETURN TO NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com
today announced that it will return to Nashville, TN next season. “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “This will be our fourth team in Nashville, one of the truly great entertainment cities in America. For whatever reason – management, timing, marketing – the teams have not achieved as we expected. This time, keeping our fingers crossed, it will because we’ll have an entertainment based organization with extraordinary experience doing it.”
The new Nashville Soul and the WABA Nashville Heart (the Heart and Soul of Nashville) will be owned by UVEE Entertainment, LLC, headed by UVEE CEO Buddy Walker, who has 30 years in the concert and entertainment business and is now developing their own TV network. Buddy also serves as CEO of ABA Entertainment and is coordinating the ABA’s Proud to Serve Concert Series honoring the military, police, firefighters and teachers (www.proudtoservecoffee.com
) later this year.
“The lack of success in Nashville is not the fault of Nashville,” added Walker. “We believe the sports fans of Nashville will support the team if we give them quality basketball at affordable prices, make a major commitment to the community and do the proper marketing. We intend to do all three with both the “Heart and Soul of Nashville.” We are very excited about adding the ABA to our sports and entertainment efforts.”
